The design for “Murmuration” began with thoughts of the simplicity and carefully-developed beauty that one might find in the architecture of a Japanese temple. In some positions, the curved tips bring to mind the multi-tiered roofs of pagodas. Once the sculpture was completed, it’s movement suggested a murmuration of birds (if you aren’t familiar with that term, it is worth finding a video on YouTube).
