22"X 22"X 22"
Edition of 3
Jack-in-the-Box is unlike any
previous sculptures I have made, though the concept came in the
process of designing and constructing Ghost Train.
Both sculptures change as your viewpoint changes.
Jack-in-the-Box combines the form of a jack (the toy) and a
twisted cube. From some angles the jack is clearly
visible, from other angles, the box appears to be empty.
It is hard to capture in a still image; more easily understood
by walking around it. I developed the design in Rhino (a
CAD program) and had the pieces laser-cut, then I wire-brushed
them and assembled them (not an easy task!). I look
forward to trying more sculptures using this approach.
